Text Box: They’re always calm, but moving steady.
Pacing down the road ahead.
Surely soon they’ll come across the roaming
freedom that they lost.

Coming and going through the hills.
Winters coming….surely, they’ll get chills.
But one thing they know is true….
looking for home will always be a difficult clue.

On the Bus

I’m on a bus and I’m by my best friend Kayla. “Hi!” that was Kayla!  We just drove by a building that was being torn down. Then we drove by a - “wow!” - don’t interrupt—that was Kayla again, she can get a little loud.  “Ow! Ow!” We just drove on a big bump and we are above the wheel!  Wow that car is -“cool” - STOP INTERRUPTING!  Sorry.  Kayla and I can get crazy sometimes. We have a group of friends, Bailey, Kayla and me!  The bus is dirty.  We’re on Bus number 951.  Have you been on a bus?

P.S.  It stinks

Text Box: AS THE SUN SETS

As the sun sets,
a gentle breeze brushes against me.
The sound of dogs barking,
the sound of children talking and playing is no more.

The sound of crickets and frogs start.
Slowly the breeze stops.
Now the sky is lit by the moon
and I have no more to tell.

CLEAN UP YOUR ROOM!!!!

“Clean up your room!”

“But Mom, have you seen it? There’s mountains of toys!  It’ll take me years!”

“Go clean up your room!”

“But Mom, I don’t know where to start—I’ll get lost in there!  You’ll have to send in the navy and bust in the hard toy wall!”

“I don’t care—just go! Go! Go!”

“But Mom!”

“No buts about it - go!”

“What if I built a machine to do it for me?”

“HUH? Yeah, right.  Now GO CLEAN YOUR ROOM!”

“But…”

“NOW!”

“Alright, you win this round, this battle, this war. But I swear I will win someday!”

2 years later…..

“You finally finished?  You did it!  Hooray!  Now, wasn’t that easy?  Wasn’t that fun?”

It was HORRIBLE, but I did it hooray!  Now I have learned my lesson to keep my room clean.  Mom, can I have a  party on Saturday?”

“No way”.
